My mission statement is to encourage, influence and inspire women to experience an authentic and transformational relationship with God, reflecting on who God created them to be, what He’s called them to do and to unleash their God-given potential to be and do more than they could ever dream or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

A Little More About Deitra

For over thirty years, Deitra’s relational style of connecting with women on their level has brought many to a deeper, more personal walk with their God.  Her call is to ignite a passion in women to fall in love with God and experience Him in an intimate way through practicing His presence for themselves. Deitra has years of experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching women to experience a transformational relationship with Christ.  She not only speaks to Christian retreat groups around the country but facilitates retreats in her home on a monthly basis.

In the year 2000, Deitra and her husband, Rob, served as staff with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) at University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii.  From 2001-2003 she served as the Director of Women’s Ministry at Sharon Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia.  Deitra has developed curriculum and taught Prayer Journaling: Developing an Intimate Relationship with God, which focuses on many of the principles in her book, Ears Wide Open.  As a 2004 graduate of C.L.A.S.S. (Christian Leaders, Authors and Speakers Services, www.classeminars.org) and as a professional life coach trained through Lifeforming Leadership Coaching (www.lifeformingcoach.org) Deitra has much to offer women seeking to foster a deeper spiritual relationship with the Lord.

Deitra has been married to Rob for 37 years and has three beautiful daughters and eleven adorable grandchildren, ten of which are girls and one precious boy which also includes a set of triplets.  She lives in Buford, Georgia and is active in leadership at Browns Bridge Community Church pastored by Andy Stanley.

MY PERSONAL STATEMENT OF FAITH
November 2, 2007

I believe God to be the Creator of the entire universe and everything in it. He is Almighty, All-knowing, Always Present. He is sovereign over all creation and at the same time He allows those He has created to have a will of their own although His desire is for each of us to want a relationship with Him because that is who He created us to be – to be in relationship with Him. He is part of the Trinity and His role includes but is not limited to Father. He is perfect in His holiness, righteousness, justice and love. He doesn’t just love  but He is love, the fullness of love’s expression. There is no other God to be worshiped but Him. He is the one and only True God.

I believe Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah, born of a virgin as predicted by Isaiah, fully God, God in the flesh, fully man but perfect, without sin, the exact representation of God, the second person in the Trinity, who came to earth and died on a cross, took on the sins of the world, was punished and made payment for those sins proven by His resurrection from the dead  so that those of us who believe that truth and surrender their lives to God could have a right relationship with God (and Jesus and the Holy Spirit) and not have to make the payment for their own sins but will experience life forever in fellowship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity whose role is to indwell us when we accept what Jesus did on the cross for us, to empower us to live as God desires us to live, to teach us truth, to convict us of sin and to comfort us when we need to be comforted.

I believe that sin is innate in all of us and that the result of sin is separation from God; that sin is choosing our own way over God’s way, by not honoring God as our Creator and the Redeemer of our lives; that sin is not only acted out in our behavior but can be present in our thoughts, attitudes and beliefs.

I believe salvation is being saved from our sin by believing in and receiving the payment made by Jesus and personal surrendering our lives to Him. It is not just a mental assent but it is putting our faith in what Jesus did, that there is nothing I could ever do to gain favor with God aside from trusting that Jesus did it all and that is enough to be reconciled to God. It is God’s grace that brings salvation to me, not by my efforts. I also believe there is only one way to experience salvation and that is through Jesus Christ.

I believe that all truth is from God and that Jesus is truth, all truth is found in Him, that He is the perfect expression of truth. that truth exists whether we believe it or not. Truth is what is real, actual, true to fact.

I believe the Bible is the inerrant written and spoken Word of God, that God inspired, spoke to and through those who wrote the Bible to communicate with us, His creation, what He wants us to know about Himself and about us and how to live life in relationship with Him.  I believe the Bible is like no other book that it is holy and sacred, living and active and able to divide between truth and lies and thus our plumb line or standard for living in relationship to God and to the world.

I believe prayer is a two way communion/conversation with God in which we can tell God how we feel, what we think, ask questions of Him and that He, in turn, answers us, in our hearts, spirits and minds and that through prayer we can develop an intimate relationship with God.
